Withholding of Removal

  • Higher burden of proof than asylum

Temporary Protected Status (TPS)

VAWA (Violence Against Women Act)

  • Self-petition option for abused spouses, children, or parents of U.S. citizens or LPRs
     
  • Confidential process — abuser is not notified
     

Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)

  • For children abused, abandoned, or neglected by one or both parents
     
  • Requires state court findings and USCIS approval
     
  • Can lead to a green card
